About our Fishing Trips
Targeted Species Description of Trip
Drifting for Fluke
Photo taken on 7/7/01
Forrest Black & H. Hanna with tied pool winning Fluke
" Fluke Fishing at it's Best "

Captain John has been an authority on Raritan Bay Fluke fishing for many years. The experience makes the difference in getting on a good drift and catching fish. The captains know how to hug the channel edges and keep you over the bait & structure on the bottom. With the many channels, buoys and cross channels in the bay, the Captain John gives anglers the "edge".

Our crew will offer to clean your fish on the way back home.
Winter Flounder

" Catch Big Bay Flounder "

Every March the larger female flounder move into the bay, leaving the smaller males up the rivers. The Captain John targets these bigger fish and anchors up for a day of chumming clams for the flatties. Bring a light pole for some great action of these desirable fish, and take home a flounder dinner that you will not soon forget.

We break fresh whole clams into pieces when we chum for flounder
Stripers, Weakfish & Blues

" An Evening of Bay Fishing "

Striped Bass, Blues & Weakfish come & go in the bay throughout the year at different times. In the evening, the Captain John has scheduled twilight fishing trips for these species. Areas like the Reach, Buoy 1, Princess Bay & Chapel Hill Channel are all nearby, giving you plenty of time to catch and land fish.

We sell sandworms & bloodworms for these trips on board at a very inexpensive price!
Chumming for Bluefish

" Family Fishing for Big Blues "

We go on one Bluefish Chumming trip every year on Columbus Day. This special trip maintains the Captain John's "Family Fishing" atmosphere, and tackles the hardcore task of chumming up big blues. Reservations are required so make a plan with the family to go out on our Deep Ocean Fishing Full Day, from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm on Columbus Day.

Bake Bluefish Filets with the skin up at 500 degrees on the bottom rack, for 12 minutes, serve with melted butter.
Yellowfin Tuna & Albacore

" Offshore Canyon Fishing "
Make your Reservations Now!!! only 15 people per trip!

We have scheduled 2 Offshore Tuna trips to the canyons in 2001. These trips are limited to the first 15 pre-paid reservations for each date, September 30th & October 14th - 2001.

We set sail at 5:00 pm and head offshore between 70 and 120 miles. That night we anchor up and enjoy some big-game fishing with our customers. Yellowfin Tuna, Big-Eye & Longfin (Albacore) make up most of the action, with swordfish, sharks & mahi-mahi mixed in. The fishing continues until 12:00 noon the next day, when we set sail for home for 5:00 pm.

Don't forget dramamine or a wrist band to prevent sea sickness so you can enjoy your trip
